The Buckeye REC Lawrence County Office is located at 5459 St. Rt. 217, Willow Wood, OH, next to the Linville Post Office in a building shared with the Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation Service. This is a full-service office open 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday only (closed for lunch from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.). An after-hours payment deposit box is available for your convenience.

Why pay more than you owe? A 10% penalty is charged on all bill payments not received in the BREC office by the due date. A "postmark" date does NOT qualify as the date payment is received. One of the best ways to avoid late fees is to use our automatic bank draft feature.

Online Bill Pay - BREC offers online bill pay for customer convenience.

Automated Phone Service - BREC now has an automated phone line available 24 hours a day that allows members to make credit card payments, receive account balance and most recent payment information along with payment due dates, etc. Call 800-231-BREC.

You can now pay your electric bill (cash only) at WALMART, KROGER and many other locations through CheckFreePay’s many locations. It’s the nation’s leading provider of walk-in bill payment solutions. Visit http://www.checkfreepay.com and select the tab, “Find a Location”. Click “Agent Locator” and choose Option 2 to search by zip code. Enter your zip and a list of Check Free Pay’s agents nearest you will be displayed.

Do Not pay for delinquent bills at any of BREC pay stations. Your payment may not reach our office in time to prevent cut off and collection charges.

Do not remit payments by mail to the Payment Stations.

Credit/Debit Card Draft - For members who call monthly to pay their electric bill with a credit or debit card, Buckeye REC is now offering payment by "automatic credit/debit card draft." You will still receive your monthly statement in the mail but will no longer need to call the office each month. Click here to download a credit/debit card draft enrollment application. The application may be printed and brought by either office, or mailed to BREC at PO Box 200, Rio Grande, OH, 45674. Contact the member service department of one of our local offices for more information.

Automatic bank draft payment plans are available. Click here to download an application for automatic payments. The application may be printed and brought by either office, or mailed to BREC at PO Box 200, Rio Grande, OH, 45674.

Budget billing is also offered. Budget billing allows you to pay a set amount every month. Once every 12 months, a "true-up" of the account occurs, based on actual usage. This reconciliation occurs during the month of May. The true-up might require you to pay for an excess amount of kilowatt hours used during the period if usage exceeds your budgeted monthly total. Or, if usage is less, you will receive a credit from the true-up. Budget billing participation is based on credit rating, and the amount of the monthly bill is an estimated average from the previous 12-month period based on actual usage.

For more about these programs, call Buckeye REC at 1-800-231-2732 or (740) 379-2025

Keep account contact information (address and phone number if possible) updated in order to receive capital credit notifications. This would be true even if a member moves out of BREC service territory.
