Policy No. 450 — Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative
FEE SCHEDULE
New Membership:
Security Deposit:
Annual average of monthly consumption plus 30%, with a minimum of $165.
Account Origination Fee:
For service where previous account existed - $30
New Service Extension:
• Non-Refundable Design Fee: $100 (Request for service where no service has previously been installed. This will be applied toward any actual aid to construction costs) (See Policy 620)
• Aid to Construction Fee: Determined on a case by case basis in accordance with BREC construction standards and distance from the main line. (See Policy 620)
• The Cooperative will install and own equipment (even if funded by the applicant as Aid to Construction) necessary for connection of an underground service to be provided by the applicant. All hardware beyond the meter base/disconnect (point of attachment) shall be the property of the Applicant
• (See Policy 610)
• Initial Service Inspection: Normally there will be no charge for the initial inspection of service. However, if the service is not ready or, does not meet requirements when the Cooperative has been notified the member is ready for connection, a $50 trip charge will be assessed the member. (See Policy 610) Inspection in this case does not imply that Buckeye is checking for compliance with the National Electric Code. An inspection is performed to ensure that the customer has met Buckeye’s requirements for service. This is done to insure the construction crew can finish the job in one trip.
• Re-design Fee: (If the member elects to change the method of receiving service after a method has been established) $50 redesign fee. (See Policy 610)
Recurring Services (Monthly Electric Rates):
Residential Rates: See Rate GS/SP – 03 (Attachment 1)
Single Phase Commercial Rates: See Rate CS/SP – 03 (Attachment 2)
Three Phase Commercial Rates: See Rate Three Phase – 03 (Attachment 3)
Power Cost Adjustment (PCA): Determined by the Cooperative's wholesale Power supplier (automatically made a part of the monthly bill for each account)
Security Light (See Policy 660)
Installation:
a. On existing poles with secondary service-$150.
b. When a pole is necessary, the cost of the pole, plus $600 (the cost of installing the pole) plus $100 if the pole must be set by hand.
c. When a transformer is required, an additional charge equal to the cost of the transformer and the labor to install the transformer will be added.
Relocation:
Light only $150, Light and pole $700 (see policy 660)
Repair other than normal maintenance:
Special Service Needs:
• Collection Call Fee: $50 (See Policy 490)
• Reconnection Fee after Disconnection for Non-Pay: $75 / Mon.-Fri., 7:30a.m. – 3:00 p.m., $150 all other times.
• Reconnection Fee to Location with Pre-Existing Service (same Member): $50 / Mon.-Fri., 7:30a.m - 4:00 p.m.
• Second Trip Reconnection Fee if Member's Service Unfit for Hook Up, First
• Trip: $50 / Mon.-Fri., 7:30a.m - 4:00 p.m.
• Meter Reading Fee (if member fails to report usage): $20
• Meter Testing at Member's Request: $150 in advance, refundable if found defective.
• Trouble-Call-Out Charge Where Problem is Determined to be on the member's side of Point of Connection: Mon.-Fri. 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $50 / All Other Times $150.
• Setting meter pole (purchased from Buckeye) for customer: $600 plus the cost of the pole.
Penalty Charges:
• Late Payment Penalty: 10% of delinquent balance
• Meter Tampering: $250 per occurrence, plus the cost of repairs and or replacement.
• Returned Check Due to Insufficient Funds: $25 per check
BREC reserves the right to refuse payment by personal check should circumstances warrant.
Miscellaneous:
Idle Services: Landowners who have been notified by BREC that they have an idle service pursuant to Policy 670, may elect not to have the service removed by paying BREC minimum monthly charge.
Country Living Magazine is the publication used by the cooperative to provide official notice of annual meetings, special meetings, rate changes, and other information of importance to the membership. The cost of the magazine subscription is included in the monthly charges for electric service as determined by the board of trustees.
